After dabbling in more-advanced endeavors, Voopoo is back to the pod mod drawing board with the latest in its Vinci series, the all-new Vinci Air Pod Mod Kit. Well, it’s not EXACTLY “back to the drawing board” here — the Air is definitely more compact and pod-like, but with plug-n-play coils and some decent sub-ohm capability, this is still firmly in the new breed of pod mods.
Let’s dive in and see what’s up.
The VINCI lineup gets a bit longer – Interestingly, the VOOPOO VINCI AIR 30W Pod System, implementing a 900mAh battery, dual operation modes, and can hold up to 4mL of eJuice within the refillable pod. Equipped with the same dual airflow system, the 4mL pod can be rotated 180° for an entirely different inhalation style.
Constructed from zinc-alloy, the VINCI AIR houses a 900mAh battery internally, delivering ample power to support the 30W max output. Outputting in AUTO or MANUAL Mode, the VOOPOO VINCI AIR can intelligently detect the ideal wattage for the installed coil or can allow the user to adjust the wattage to the preferred setting.

Aesthetics of the VOOPOO VINCI AIR
Just like its myriad predecessors, the Vinci Air is swathed in attractive panel designs, to complement the reflective aluminum. And, as always, this series straddles the line between subtle and flashy. By now, you either like the frames and format of this series, or you’ve moved on to other brands and products.
(To be honest, our test models actually seemed a little subdued compared to past editions, with a notable LACK of resin or flash.)
But, for the first time since Voopoo debuted the original Vinci, we’re happy with the heft and substance of this compact mod. There’s a sense of density and durability that just wasn’t there in the past, giving the user a little more confidence.
We also need to mention the vertically oriented display. By now, screens aren’t exactly a novelty on pod mods/AIO devices, but Voopoo continues to justify their use with a clean, easy to decipher display that leaves nothing out.
The control buttons are fantastic, with a firm, clicky response that’s normally reserved for much more-advanced devices. Maybe the controls of an entry-level vape mod are considered a throwaway for some, but Voopoo never lets anyone down with build quality.
To be clear, there’s SOME sub-ohm capabilities on display with the Vinci Air, but this is still a restricted/MTL device at heart. And the slender mouthpiece definitely appeals to that crowd more than any other. There’s nothing inherently bad about the slender, narrow mouthpiece, but don’t expect to fog any rooms with this setup.
Vaping the Voopoo Vinci Air
Though there’s only a 30-watt maximum output here, the Vinci Air delivers the series’ same high level of flavor and vapor production. And that — once again — has to be attributed to the outstanding coils, alongside the airflow options (basically, rotating the pod tank 180 degrees to give you either restricted or cut-off airflow).
These heads not only offer strong flavor with both freebase and nic salt juices, but also bring some decent longevity to the table. Of the two included coil heads, the VM4 coil head remains the better performer, offering better vapor and flavor. These heads aren’t going to rival the high-end sub-ohm tanks in your collections, but for a pod setup it’s kind of impressive.
Using both freebase and nic salt juices, I found the Air was better with less-viscous liquids, but seemed to wick all of them well, rarely giving me a dry hit, even when putting the device through the rigors. I don’t recommend chain vaping sessions with a device like the Vinci Air, but know that it can handle a few extended draws without much concern.
Well, most pod devices (save for a few) aren’t known for deep flavor quality, but the Vinci series has always been the exception. Though the 30-watt output limits the warmth and depth of some more-complex liquids, overall, the clarity is there and casual vapers will be more than satisfied.
(For the record, the 1.0-ohm R2 coil is also a solid option, but the VM4 had a clear flavor and vapor advantage.)
One item of note is the somewhat decent battery life. The Vinci Air isn’t going to win any longevity awards with its 900mAh integrated cell. But compared to similar mods using equally powerful batteries, the Vinci Air seemed to get more out of the available power than most. After using (and enjoying) the single-18650 Vinci X, the Air might seem like a step down, but overall, the experience is largely the same.
Our only complaint is the decided lack of venting on the Vinci Air. Though there’s not a lot of supposed power here, Voopoo crammed a lot of technology into the mod, and things can get a little warm with extended use. A few extra venting ports would have made a big difference in comfort levels.
- Solid, long-lasting coils
- Good flavor clarity for a pod mod
- Outstanding screen and control buttons
- Not enough venting
- Kind of redundant with the original Vinci and Vinci R devices
- Battery is just okay
Spinfuel VAPE Recommendation and Score
Though we liked the Voopoo Vinci Air, we’re not 100% sure of where it fits in the series’ lineage. Voopoo seems to be moving things toward more-advanced vaping with the Vinci X. But the Air is a comfortable, familiar step back to the entry-level category.
It works well, has good coils and decent battery life. So, in that sense, it’s a winner. But in the grand scheme of pod mods and AIO devices, we’re not completely sure it’s necessary.
